Our Practice
Siber Imaging is a multi-disciplinary neurophysiology practice treating patients with neurological disorders including chronic fatigue syndrome, myalgic encephalomyelitis, fibromyalgia, attention deficit disorder, adult attention deficit disorder, sleeping disorders, closed head injury, and many others. Please see our section on Conditions Treated in N.C. for a complete list.
The clinic was founded by Dr. Myra Preston and by Kim Phillips, a CFIDS patient and business executive specializing in business development. Dr. Preston, who is Board Certified as a Diplomate in Neurotherapy, as a Neurotherapist, as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and as a Biofeedback Therapist, has been in private practice in Charlotte, N.C. since 1985.
Siber Imaging has been working with CFIDS/ME/FM patients utilizing qEEG (brainmapping) and neurofeedback since 1990. In the early stages of the company's existence, Dr. Preston and Kim Phillips designed research studies, which have been presented at national and international symposiums by Dr. Paul Cheney, Dr. Charles Lapp and Dr. Ian Hyams, all three of whom are renowned chronic fatigue syndrome, myalgic encephalomyelitis, and fibromyalgia clinicians. After carefully evaluating many patients utilizing qEEG (brain mapping) and their individual responses to neuroneurotherapy, the company applied for a patent. In December of 1993, the company was awarded U.S. Patent No. 5,267,570: "METHOD OF DIAGNOSING AND TREATING CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME."
Siber Imaging has worked with more CFIDS/ME/FM patients than any other neurotherapy clinic in the world. Using patient specific training protocols based on its patented approach, Siber Imaging has helped patients successfully address their symptoms, allowing them to enjoy an improved quality of life. Many have been able to return to school or work on a part or full-time basis. Also, many patients have been able to significantly reduce or discontinue medications. qEEG (brain mapping) has also been useful for many patients in their pursuit of disability benefits.
